Darkest Fantasy

Darkest Fantasy by L.V Hunter

295 pages

I was asked to read and review Darkest Fantasy by L.V Hunter for my blog. What a great book this was. This is a story about Eva, an intern at Vincent and Son’s and Alex the CEO of Vincent and Sons. The book starts out with Eva breaking up with her boyfriend of 6 years in a Starbucks. Her ex-boyfriend says some cruel things to her that makes her feel terrible, purposely knocks over her hot coco and embarrasses her in front of the entire Starbucks. The things that her ex says to her make her feel self concise and worthless, like no other man could possibly want to be with her, she will never be someones first choice only their safe choice. That feeling that Eva has is what I believe many women feel. Not pretty enough for a good guy to be attracted to, too short, too cubby. The main female character is someone you can personally relate to on some level and that grabs your attention making you want to finish the story to see if the girl, who reminds you of you, ends up with her happily ever after. At least that’s how I feel.

Then you have Alex, the adopted son of the owner of Vincent and Sons. He was abused as a child by his adopted father. His father is dying of lung cancer and has made a stipulation in his will that in order for his son, Alex, to get full control of the company he must marry a woman who comes from a family that has money and prestige. He goes out on a blind date with women from a list that his father has provided, only to find something wrong with her every time; she talks to much, she tries to hard to fit the part. In his hart Alex knows he wants to marry for love, not so he can keep control of the company he spent the last several years trying to make better.

Alex is writing a fantasy romance novel and accidentally sends a chapter to his intern, Eva, to read instead of his sister, Sam. Luckily he sent the email under his pen name and Eva doesn’t know who the real writer is. She loves the chapter that she reads and gives the author some constructive criticism and begs him to send her more. Alex starts to see Eva as an attractive woman and not just his employee. But he thinks how could such a intelligent and beautiful woman want to be in a relationship with a weirdo like me; I’m an asshole who likes to dominate in the bedroom, there is no way a sweet innocent woman like Eva would want to be with me. As a reader you see how perfect this couple really is for each other, if only they would see it for themselves.

I would like to thank L.V for the opportunity to read and review this book. I enjoyed reading this story. L.V is a talented writer and I look forward to watching them grow into a New York Times best selling author.I think this books needs a little more sex but that just because I look forward to the sex scenes and feeling the chemistry between the couple, and that’s what this story is lacking – chemistry.  I’m going on a hunt to find more of their books – they are described as an author who writes hot, sweet, and sexy tales of couples finding true love and true happiness.

Beholden by Corinne Michaels

369 pages

If I thought Beloved tore me apart, Beholden was worse. The book was full of romance as Jackson let Catherine in, it had lust when they couldn’t be in the same room as one another and not be physical while Jackson is recovering from the shooting, it had intimacy and it had heart ache. Never has a book brought me to tears but this one did. I could feel Catherine’s pain when she found out something Jackson was keeping from her, and you could feel Jackson’s pain when he was finally able to tell her the whole story that initially broke her heart a month after she left him. What we thought was their final goodbye when Catherine left New York to move to Las Angeles for her job. I’m tearing up just writing this out and remembering the heartache that I felt for them both.

Jackson and Catherine are so much in love and the way Corrine can go into such detail without being too wordy is amazing. This truly was the best romance novel series I have read so far. There was a story, a damn good story, and it wasn’t all about the two in love. The relationship that Catherine had with Ashton, Gretchen and her assistant Taylor was a huge part of the story. I would love to see a novel about Ashton and her love interest; I would even more love to see Ashton with Mark, Jackson’s best friend, what an amazing story I think that would be. The prologue had me laughing, which was much needed after the sobfest that occurred in the chapters prior to the end. I’m disappointed this story is over, I would love to see Jackson and Catherine’s story go on and on but like every great book it must come to an end. Hopefully we get little glimpses of Jackson and Catherine in the standalone books in The Salvation Series.

Another 5 star read

Beloved by Corrine Michaels

391 pages

After just reading the prologue I immediately knew this story was going to rip me apart. My heart was broken in the first chapter. I can feel Catherine’s pain, like I was watching a movie play out in front of me. This is the first book by Corrine Michaels I have read and it definitely won’t be the last.

After her ex fiancé Nick breaks her heart, Catherine accidentally falls into Jackson’s lap when she’s out at a restaurant with friends and the connection is immediate. Never has a man made her feel like this just by his touch. Even though it’s been three months since Nick broke her heart, Catherine is not ready to be with another man right now, she manages to get away from Jackson and back to her friends knowing she will never see him again. Turns out Jackson is the CEO of Raven Cosmetics, the company Catherine is trying to win a PR account with.

Catherine and Jackson have this immediate connection and Catherine tries to keep their relationship professional for two reasons, 1 Jackson is her client and it’s unprofessional to get involved with a client and 2 she’s afraid to get hurt again by another man. They agree to keep their professional lives separate from their private lives and begin the journey of dating. Catherine learns Jackson also owns a security firm in Virginia and is ex SEALS.

His lips inch closer to mind and his words are soft and dripping with honesty. “You’re never lost, Catherine. I’ll always find you”

I was right, this book ripped me apart. The book was full of lust and love and there was a lot of heartache. Catherine pushes Jackson away, he tells her not to push him away but like every heroine she is stubborn and doesn’t listen and lets him walk away. He reaches out to her; despite saying he wouldn’t, to talk business. They reconnect; have passionate hot sex on the wall and Jackson receives a phone call that one of his friends was killed on a mission and Jackson blames himself for sending him on the mission. After reconnecting and promising each other they would never walk out on each other again, Jackson goes against his word and leaves Catherine for good. That’s not the tragic part; Jackson ends up shot 3 times.

I loved this book and immediately fell in love with Jackson right away. He is my new number 1 book boyfriend. He’s an alpha male but he’s sweet and romantic. Being ex SEALS he has a hero complex and wants to protect you. He’s the perfect boyfriend sorry Colton. 5 star read.

I have a new author I’m obsessed with and its Corrine Michaels. I’ve fallen in love with Jackson Cole. I’m on book 2 of the salvation series and can’t put it down but need to in order to get some sleep to function at work tomorrow. Stay tuned for my review on this amazing series.

Sometimes the things we shouldn’t want become exactly what we need . . .

Waitressing at a seedy strip club isn’t ideal, but it pays Sarah Adamson’s tuition. Her goal is to finish her master’s program and get a job that doesn’t involve tight skirts and groping hands. She doesn’t need distractions. Especially not the one that comes in the form of a hot-as-sin tattoo artist who works across the street from her apartment.

Kicked out at sixteen, and a high school dropout, Chris Zelter is familiar with wanting things he can’t have. His fractured life has never been easy. As the product of someone else’s bad decisions, he knows exactly what happens when the wrong person controls your marionette strings. Now an accomplished tattoo artist in a renowned studio in Chicago, Chris has it together.

Apart from his infatuation with Sarah. She’s way out of his league, and Chris knows it.

But he’s willing to be her bad decision. At least for now.

The Hotel Series

The Hotel Series by Lola Darling
208 pages total all 3 books

5 star review

I was introduced to Lola through a newsletter subscription. I read her latest book Teach Me and really enjoyed Lola’s writing style. When I got the Hotel part 1 and 2 for free from her newsletter I had to download them. This was a great story. The hot billionaire story has been done before but Lola’s story took it to a new level.

Lola has a way of writing that has you the reader feeling the passion between the characters while your reading. Her sex scenes are HOT and very detailed, it’s like your watching a movie and not reading a book.  Lola is an up and coming romance novelist and I can’t wait for her to release another romance book.I loved this book, was sad when Dom and Juliet’s story was over, I can only hope we get glimpses of them in some of her future novels.

Juliet is a student in the hospitality program in Chicago. She lands an internship at the Rexford hotel in Chicago – her dream job. Her first day she walks into the boardroom and at the other end of the table is her one night stand from the previous night, her new boss! Dominic wants her again and does everything he can to convince her to see him again. The books are full of sex, drama and a little bit of heart ache. Can Juliet stick to her morals and stay away from temptation or will she give in to the man who gave her the best sex of her life? Read The Hotel series and find out.

Feel me Break

Feel me Break by Tara R

4 star rating

Tara R asked me to read and write a review on her novella Feel me Break. After reading the first few pages on the look inside feature I decided this was a book I needed to read.

It’s a rainy gloomy Saturday afternoon so I decided to curl up with the book and I was hooked immediately. The novella is about Chloe, a teenage girl who is succumb to grief after the death of her brother. She needs to be the strong one and puts on a brave face for everyone so know one knows how she truly is feeling inside. One night while in a daze, Chloe decides she wants to end her life. Standing on the railing and she is desperately waiting for a sign that she should live. That sign turns out to be Nick, a total stranger who stops to see if she needs help. There is an immediate connection between the both of them and Nick starts having romantic feelings that he’s never had before. He gets Chloe to safety and leaves her with her friend only for tragedy to hit him.

Fast forward two years and Chloe and Nick meet again, miles away from home. They both get called away, will they meet again? We will have to wait until August when the full length novel of Nick and Chloe’s story continues in Watch me Rise. I cannot wait for this full length novel to come out. The first chapter is available at the end of Feel me Break and Tara has left a huge cliff hanger. I can’t wait to see how Chloe and Nick’s story ends. Will it be a happily ever after or will it end in tragedy I can’t wait to find out!

Get your copy of Feel me Break here. It’s a great lead up to the full length novel, it’s like reading a teaser and having to wait for the full length book to be released. August can’t come soon enough.

I signed up for a newsletter chain to be entered into a contest to win a $100 amazon gift card. I didn’t win the gift card unfortunately but I got the pleasure of receiving emails from authors who were apart of the contest. This is how I came across the book Teach me by Lola Darling. Lola shared chapter 1 of her new book in her latest newsletter and I was hooked. I downloaded a copy right away and read about 30% of the book in a span of under 3 hours. I didn’t want to put the book down.

This book is a love story between 2 people who shouldn’t be together. Jack is a poetry professor and Harper is one of his students. It’s forbidden love and they both know it. Jack does his best to push Harper away but there’s something about her that keeps pulling him in. They both agree to just sex but end up falling for each other. You can feel the passion these 2 characters have for each other in Lola’s writing and I’m not just talking about the sex and those scenes are HOT.

I was a little disappointed with the ending and I really hope Lola left it like that so she could continue Jack and Harper’s story.Lola Darling is a new must read author for me. I have a few more of her novels on my kindle app to read so check back in a few weeks for more reviews.

Mister O

Mister O by Lauren Blakley 306 pages

5 star review!

This book was super easy to read and I had a hard time putting the book down. I was disappointed when it was finished, not because the ending wasn’t good but because Nick and Harper’s story was over. I hope we get a little more Nick and Harper with Nick’s brother’s book, the next book in this standalone series.

Mister O is a standalone romantic comedy that follows some of the same characters as her first romantic comedy Big Rock. It’s told in the male POV. If you enjoyed reading Spencer in Big Rock you will love Nick more. Nick is not your typical romance god. He’s not a playboy – he actually describes himself as a serial monogamist. He’s not full of himself like most of our romance gods. He’s good at sex because he know’s how to read women’s cues on what they like and don’t like and he’s a very generous lover, always making his woman cum at least 3 times to his single orgasm. To sum it up, he’s the perfect man and he’s well hung too! Nick has eyes for his best friend, Spencer’s little sister, Harper but she’s off limits.

Harper is a magician and spends most of her time entertaining children. She’s inexperienced with men and doesn’t have the slightest clue on how to talk around the opposite sex whom she’s attracted too so Harper asks Nick to be her dating tutor after he witnesses the way she blushes and can’t get the words out to speak to the man she’s interested in. Nick agree’s and the start spending more time together. I very much enjoyed reading the male POV in this book, it’s great to read what you think is going through a man’s mind when he’s crushing on you.

Driven Series Cover Reveal

Check out the NEW SEXY COVERS in the Driven Series
by K. Bromberg!
Now is your chance to meet Colton and Rylee!

Driven by Need. Fueled with Desire.
Driven (Book One)

From New York Times Best-Selling Author K. Bromberg comes an unforgettable series about lust, love, redemption, and healing…
Our paths should never have crossed.
Colton Donavan was arrogant, exuded that bad boy vibe, and embodied everything I never wanted. And yet all it took was one night, one hallway, and one stolen kiss for me to know I hated him and desired him instantly.
My heart was healing. His soul was damaged. But with one bid, one little boy, and one carnival date, I couldn’t walk away and he wouldn’t let me in.
This is our story. Our fight. Our perfectly imperfect love.
Fueled With Desire. Crashing Into Love.
Fueled (Book Two)
What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?
Colton stole my heart. He wasn’t supposed to, and I sure as hell didn’t want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.
Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. She’s seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she’s still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.
How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?
He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won’t let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.
How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there’s someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I’d never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I’ll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can’t be what she needs, so why can’t I just let her go?
We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

Crashing Into Love. Racing Toward Forever.
Crashed (Book Three)

When life crashes down around us, how hard are we willing to fight for the one thing we can’t live without, each other?
Life is full of moments.
Big moments.
Little moments.
And none of them are inconsequential.
Every single moment prepares you for that one instance that defines your life. You must overcome all your fears, confront the demons that chase you, and cleanse the poison that clings to your soul or you risk the chance of losing everything.
Mine started the minute Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet. She made me feel. Made me whole when all I thought I could ever be was incomplete. Became the lifeline I never knew I needed. Hell yes, she’s worth the fight…but how do you fight for someone you know you don’t deserve?
Love is full of ups and downs.
Heart stopping highs.
Soul shattering lows.
And none of them are insignificant.
Love is a racecourse of unexpected twists and turns that must be negotiated. You have to break down walls, learn to trust, and heal from your past in order to win. But sometimes it’s the expected that’s the hardest to hold on to.
Colton has healed and completed me, stolen my heart, and made me realize our love’s not predictable nor perfect—it’s bent. And bent’s okay. But when outside factors put our relationship to the test, what lengths will I have to go to prove to him that he’s worth the fight?
Whoever said love is patient and love is kind, never met the two of us. We know our love is worth it—have acknowledged that we were meant to be—but when our pasts crash into our future, will the repercussions make us stronger or break us apart?

A chance encounter led to the most important race of his life…
Raced (Book Four)
Colton Donavan lived life in the fast lane, but it took Rylee Thomas to teach him what racing was all about.
You think you know me?
Think again.
*Raced is not a complete re-write of the Driven Trilogy. This companion explores pivotal scenes as well as some new ones written in Colton Donavan’s point of view that were not previously published in Driven, Fueled, and Crashed. Hear his thoughts, experience his inner-turmoil, and laugh with him on his journey as he overcomes his demons and accepts what it means to love.
This novella is for the devoted readers of the Driven series. It is recommended that this companion be read after Driven, Fueled, and Crashed.

Racing toward forever.  Claiming his checkered flag.

Rylee and Colton’s ride continues…
One moment. Six years ago.
The night she made the world around me so much more than just a blur. Now it’s the catalyst that threatens to tear us apart.
Our happily was supposed to be ever after. So why do I feel like it’s slipping through my fingers?
How can one moment, when our world seemed so right, resurface and cause our perfect life to spiral out of control?
I can’t lose her.
She’s my checkered flag.
